My Snow Bunny Weekend in Manchester, Vermont

Every year, I take a mother-daughter trip to Manchester, Vermont. We spend the weekend skiing, eating great food, and sitting by the fireplace with a glass (or two) of wine. This year was no exception.

Where We Ski

Because of my school schedule, I don't get on the mountain very often - this weekend getaway tends to be the only time I go skiing all season! We find that Stratton Mountain is the best option for us to get the most bang for our buck. It has the perfect amount of easy trails to get back into the groove along with expert trails to keep us from getting bored. While it's no Colorado (I'll get back there one day!), we always feel challenged. The mountain's glade trail (my absolute fave!) offerings also helps!

While West Pilot Glades is a blue square trail, it provides plenty of a challenge to make it one of my faves on the mountain!

Where We Stay

Every year my mom and I stay at The Olympia Lodge. This place is a gem and I would send anyone I know there. The lobby area feels like a living room with comfy couches, a fireplace, and bar area - perfect for lounging with a book (or homework, in my case) and glass of wine!

The inn is owned by a couple from Long Island, who years ago decided to quit their jobs and move their family to Vermont to run their own inn. Trish and Sal are lovely people who from day one make you feel at home. By our second trip, they recognized us as the mom and daughter duo and treated us like friends. They even started letting me go behind the bar to pour my own drinks!

Rates for the inn are extremely reasonable as well! They offer ski and lodging packages that help make the weekend very affordable. For two nights of lodging, two breakfasts (which is homemade and so delicious!) and two lift tickets to Stratton, the cost is only $229 per person!

And what's one of the best parts of Olympia Lodge? They have a dog that you can play with!

For those of you who don't know, I have serious puppy fever, but my busy schedule and apartment don't allow me to have a dog of my own. Harry is a beautiful golden retriever that let's me get all of the puppy belly rubs out of my system.

What about you all? What is your favorite place to go on a ski weekend? Let me know in the comment section below - I'm open to all recommendations!
